Louise, a young woman in delicate health, rejoices to be celebrating Christmas with her sister, Josephine. All that is missing from this “perfect” holiday is Louise’s husband Brently, who is due back via train after a business trip. But Josephine learns that Brently’s train has crashed, leaving no survivors, and then must break the news to her younger sister. Louise’s unexpected reaction, and the shocking events that follow, are devastating to all.
